About Me

Professionally

Vulnerability is hard and I feel incredibly blessed to have a career where I can sit with others and share such a profound experience with them. Each person has their own story and I am grateful to walk beside anyone as they embark upon the journey of life. In all honesty, I am honored by each client that has walked through my doors and shared their story with me. I welcome anyone seeking comfort, support, healing, and growth. And do not be surprised to hear laughter during my sessions since the healing power of humor and laughter are far too real to ignore!

Personally

I grew up in Colorado where I developed my love for the outdoors and adventure. Whether it is kayaking in the summer or snowboarding in the winter I enjoy experiencing all that nature can offer. Living in California has also given me the opportunity to hike year round which is a nice plus. Connecting with nature is a huge part of my self-care. I also love to travel and see new places. I like to try new recipes which could mean cooking or baking myself or trying a new restaurant. I often play in local recreation sporting leagues and enjoy watching football and baseball. I get a little competitive at times but (almost) always finish with a smile. At home I work on projects like redoing furniture or making home décor for the upcoming holiday. Board games, card games, and the occasional video game fill my extra down time as well. I am also happy to curl up with my dog, a warm fire, a nice glass of wine, and good book.  I have amazing support from my loving boyfriend, large family, and incredible friends.

Education and Background

I have been working in social services and mental health for the last 9 years.  I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University in 2010. After a few years of working in the field I pursued a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Brandman University where I graduated in 2014. I became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in April of 2017 after completing over 3000 supervised hours (MFC #99028). I have worked in social service agencies in Colorado, Oregon, and California. Over the last 6 years I have been privileged to serve Placer County through local non-profits and now in my own private practice.  I have also completed specialized training in perinatal and postpartum counseling, Prepare Enrich (Couples Therapy), EMDR (Trauma), and Brainspotting (Trauma).
